In August, we visited two children’s homes in Kyrgyzstan. The children are currently at a summer camp on the great Issyk Kul. The older children have to work in the kitchen to help finance their stay there. Like so many things in Kyrgyzstan, this vacation resort dates back to Soviet times. All the children are given a jacket, trousers and shirts for the winter. The younger ones also get sturdy shoes. Trying on clothes and choosing sizes is quite exhausting at over 30 degrees. The big boys in particular are overjoyed with the clothes. Thanks to Lowa, Ortovox, the DAV and Columbia for their support.
