Thanks to Franzi, who has already spent many months in Colombia, we are supporting two projects there. One is the CES Waldorf initiative in the district of Ciudad Bolívar in Bogotá. Here, children from the poorest backgrounds in a neighbourhood marked by violence find a quiet place to learn and develop. In Medellin, we support the projects of the non-profit organisation Picachito Arts, which is committed to the non-violent development of children and their physical and mental health.
CES Waldorf. We start with the 60 kindergarten children, and later support the schoolchildren and the mothers and women in the neighbourhood. The CES Waldorf looks after more than 3,500 families. In addition to the children’s education and training, the organisation also manages to create a peaceful environment through music, dance and shared experiences.
Picachito Arts. The initiative appeals to children and young adults in Medellin, teaching them to live together in harmony, far from violence and poverty, through art and music projects, and sports and cultural events.
Project Medellin
